HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT

THE 3-PHASE PROCESS

Most people have been through rehab that does not work. Five minutes on a bike, some yellow band exercises, and then 10 minutes on a heatpack. That is not what happens here. Every visit follows a deliberate process, and every visit we prove whether it is working.

THE IDEA

WE MEASURE, WE TREAT, WE MEASURE AGAIN

On your first visit we identify a handful of specific things that are limiting you. Two of them come from your life, the movements or activities you cannot do right now without pain. Two of them come from the physical exam, the specific tests that reproduce your problem. We write them down and they become your markers.

Then every single time we treat you, we re-test those exact markers. Before and after, same visit. That way you are not taking my word for it, you can feel and see the change yourself. If a treatment is not moving the needle, we find out that day and change course instead of grinding through six weeks of something that was never going to work.

PHASE 1:
FIND THE ROOT CAUSE

The goal of phase 1 is to identify the pain and provide fast relief. The site of your pain is very often not the cause of your pain, so we go looking for the real driver.

What happens:

  • We map out every area giving you trouble and how those areas relate to each other using a body chart.

  • A real conversation first. Your story, how the symptoms behave, what makes them worse, what settles them down, and what you actually want to get back to.

  • Together we pick the two everyday problems from your pain that matter most to you. Those are your functional markers we will use to track process (i.e. Hours of uninterrupted sleep; hours able to sit at desk without 7/10 neck pain)

  • A physical exam built specifically for you, testing only what needs testing. We do not over-examine an irritable problem, and we do not under-examine a stubborn one.

  • From the exam we lock in two objective markers, the specific tests we will re-check every visit.

  • A clear explanation of what is going on, in plain language, with no scary jargon and no Google-bait diagnoses. I will show you more than I tell you.

  • A trial treatment right there on the first visit, then an immediate re-test of your markers so you leave knowing whether we are on the right track.

  • Symptom relief using the right tool: manual therapy, dry needling, cupping, or manipulation, chosen from the exam and not from a script.

  • A specific home program, correctly dosed, that you understand the reason for. I will ask you to explain it back to me.

What you walk out with on DAY 1

An answer, a measurable change the same day, and a plan you agreed to.

“Justin was able to quickly identify the sources of my calf and lower-back pain and provide solutions that delivered lasting results. As someone who trains a lot, it was a relief to find a physical therapist who truly gets it and understands how important it is to stay on track with your goals while safely working through an injury. I highly recommend him!”

PHASE 2:
Rebuild Strong Mechanics

Relief without rebuilding is temporary. Phase 2 is where we fix the reason it happened, so it stops coming back.

What happens:

  • Progressive strength work aimed at the real driver, whether that is the hip behind a knee problem or the mid-back behind a shoulder problem.

  • Targeted mobility (active strength through range) where you genuinely lack range, rather than stretching everything and hoping.

  • Movement retraining so the new range and strength actually show up in how you move under load.

  • Loading dose to your tissue and your irritability. With tendon pain in particular, some discomfort during and after loading is acceptable and expected, and we use a clear guideline for how much.

  • Manual therapy, needling, or cupping used as needed to keep symptoms manageable so you can keep training through this phase.

  • Your markers re-tested every visit so progress is visible, not assumed.

What you walk out with

Real strength where you were compensating, movement that holds up under load, and confidence that the fix is structural.

“Went and seen Justin for shoulder pain/mobility problems. Got treated with dry needling and suction cups and noticed immediate relief and flexibility! Highly recommend, Justin is very knowledgeable and provides a great atmosphere!”

PHASE 3:
RETURN TO FULL TRAINING

Phase 3 puts it all back into your sport. This is the phase most rehab skips, and it is the reason so many people get re-injured.

What happens:

  • We load the specific movements your sport/activity demands, whether that is the snatch, the box jump, the run, grappling, or the deadlift.

  • Volume and intensity built back up in a planned progression rather than a guess.

  • Return-to-sport testing, so the green light is based on data and not just on feeling okay.

  • Custom accessory programming to shore up the weak links the process exposed.

  • A simple lifetime toolkit: the two or three things you keep doing so this does not become an annual event.

What you walk out with

Full return to training, new PRs on the horizon, and the knowledge to manage yourself going forward.

“I came to Justin with hip and knee pain on both sides. As an athlete I’ve had to be very careful with my strength and conditioning because of this pain. He promptly found the source and was able to fix the issues. I can lift and run pain free again. He left me with some advice on how to avoid these nagging injuries in the future as well! Justin is super friendly and very good at his job.”
